"Sometimes I’ll give them to a manager to give to kids who they know would want one or who just need a smile that day."
"My job is making sure the nurses have the supplies they need for the kids. Being a children’s hospital, we need everything in every size, from neonatal to teens. And of course we need them to have cool designs and be in different colors!"
"When I first started, I started as a temp and didn’t think I’d be here very long. In fact, this hospital wasn’t even here! We were at the Con Home before this was built."
"My godniece (my brother and his wife are her godparents, so I made myself her godaunt), was here for her heart surgery. I remember seeing her dad, this big macho man, break down in tears with this little itty baby. I knew she was where she needed to be. She had Dr. Reddy and Dr. Hanley."
"It makes me feel I really do something here. To hear them talk about the care they got here, the care the nurses and doctors gave, it just makes me proud to be here. I don't know what I'd do if I retired. I'd probably be back here as a volunteer!"
