"It takes a village to raise a child."

At Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, we know this old adage to be true. Take little Jayden for instance. On the day he was born, Jayden met his loving parents, the ambulance driver who drove him to our hospital, the cardiologist who treated him for a heart murmur, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse who adjusted his oxygen tube, the volunteers who comforted him, the donors who supplied his blankets and hat, and the social worker who made sure his parents had a room to stay nearby. Each one of these humans had a hand in helping Jayden get a healthier start.

Throughout the month of November, we are pulling back the curtain and introducing you to some of the many people who make our hospital so special. Welcome to Humans of Packard Children's.

Humans of Packard Children's is a project by Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, inspired by the popular Humans of New York blog. The Foundation, a wholly independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, works to improve the health and well-being of children and expectant mothers by fundraising on behalf of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford and the child health programs at Stanford University School of Medicine.
